A few weeks ago I was worrying about how I am going to handle the load that I have this fall. Between my various jobs and responsibilities, I was scared I wouldn't have the time to devote to class that I needed too. I ended up writing down how many hours were in a week, then taking out 24 hours for sabbath, and then docking time out for the different things I need to do.
I was surprised to find that my generous estimates still left me with almost 40 hours a week of surplus time. It was at that moment that I realized that if I stick to a normal schedule I can get everything done that I need to. That is why I fell in love with GTD around a year ago. If only David Allen could come up with a way to make procrastination as evil as Greek verb structure.............
That worked for about 12 hours. Over the last 2 weeks I have been half-assed about following it, trying to write down everything I do daily to get an idea of where I waste time. My best guess is that six hour block in the late afternoon where you can watch CSI on FX.
So starting next week I am going to make an attempt at keeping this schedule I have made up. What I need are for my friends to hassle me about how I am doing, Tomorrow night I will post a quick schedule for Monday and I will let you know how it went Monday night. I will repeat this for a week. I will call it "Murder Week". There will be some rules involved, but I haven't come up with them yet.
See you in 24 hours.
